Welcome to our HOA community!
Communication Letter from the President
July 15th, 2024
Hello Hutchison Acres!
I'd like to begin by saying thank you to all those who attended the community event on Saturday evening. I received numerous positive comments and some asking to do it more often. Great idea for the future!
Big news! Our own Hutchison Acres Community resident Rory Linkletter has made the Canadian Olympic Team! You probably have seen Rory running through the neighborhood. 2 other Flagstaff residents made the U.S. Olympic Team. The Summer Olympics are coming up from July 26th to August 11th, being held in Paris, France. Please join me in cheering on Rory and all the Olympians! Go Rory!!!
Mowing and clean up have begun on the common areas. This will take several days since this hasn't been done in so long. Please be patient while this area is being taken care of.
At the June 12th Community meeting a few issues and ideas were brought up by residents. Voting was completed on July 13th after being available for a month. The issue of possibly spending HOA money to hire an attorney to get a legal opinion as to whether it would be ok to raise dues back to what they were pre-covid, was soundly defeated. Thank you to those that participated.
I have been working on getting community information more accessible for all. A lot of people are not getting any information. I have installed a digital sign at the community exit that will only run at times when new information is trying to be communicated. It will also only run during the day time until 9 pm at the latest. Hopefully this will help in getting out pertinent information without a cost to the community.
I believe that most of you received the mailing from Coconino County regarding the latest information on flood mitigation efforts and future plans. I posted that mailing on the website on the "Resources" page just in case someone missed it or for future reference.
I've noticed several residents getting after the weeds in our community. Thank you for this effort. Our community is starting to shape up nicely with more improvements coming.
We have had a few ideas passed along to us in regards to use of the common areas. Right now it's being wasted. There may be ways to not only improve the look of the common areas but also possibly make some money doing it. This is simply exploratory thought at this time but two ideas that have been presented are to make part of the common area on the south side an RV lot. This would allow residents to park their RV's there and rent out spaces that residents aren't using. This could be a very low cost solution with a high return. The second idea presented was to lease out the common area to a grass sod farm company. This is appealing due to the fact that not only would green grass look much nicer than the weeds we have now but it would also require the sod company to clean up and keep up the area at no cost to the community while making money on the lease to the sod company. These are just some thoughts but if you have another idea, we would love to hear it.
As most of you should know by now that Peaks-HOA is now our community management company. Here is their contact information if needed: Marlene at Peaks-HOA either by email at [email protected] or by phone at 928-556-1461. The address to Peaks-HOA is 1016 W. University Ave., Ste 203, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. Please keep this information for future reference.
Peaks-HOA, has updated their website to now include our community as another of their listed community's. Please go to their website at www.peaks-hoa.com and click on the "Properties" tab then click on the Hutchison Acres Community icon to be directed to our community website. Our community information will appear both on our website as well as the Peaks-HOA website and calendar. This is simply another attempt to improve communication and make it easier to get our information out.
In closing, I'd like to say thank you for all the support we have received already from the community! It is greatly appreciated. I would also like to request more involvement from community members. We have a lot to do and I am asking that others help with this burden. As I mentioned at my first meeting, we are pulling a long heavy rope here and that rope gets a lot easier to pull with the more people we can get to help pull. We have a good community and I intend to make it a model community, but I can't do it alone! Please help!
Continue to enjoy your summer and please feel free to stop and say hello any time. I'd love to know the community's thoughts and wishes!
Sincerely,
Chris Lisee
